Polish Juke

Starting Polish Juke we had a very clear and specific goal. We wanted to promote footwork culture, originated from Chicago, understood as a combination of dance (footwork) and music (juke/footwork). When footwork spread all over the world, its image was incomplete. We were endowed with only a part of the heritage – music. But even more important – dance – could only be watched on youtube. It was thanks to the Chicago dancers like King Charles, John "Boodilli" King, AG, Lite Bulb travelling around the globe and sharing their knowledge and skills, that footwork regained its proper shape and image.

Despite the Polish Juke’s activity in promoting local producers of juke/footwork, we realised that we can’t limit ourselves to music only. For the complete image we needed dancers. Finally, after many months of preparations we proudly present the result of our effort. The very first footwork clip produced in Poland – starring Polish footworkers, with Lux Familiar’s (the Polish producer) music piece. Apart from USA, Japan and Canada, Poland is yet another country where footwork culture is reaching its full exposition.
